​COMMUNICATION
Learning and You believes Communication is vital in students’ academic success.  We combine parent conferences with school functions, provide written feedback bi-weekly, and take home tutoring technology.   Our conferences are student led conferences and include the classroom teacher and or school support staff. We offer flexible scheduling with face-to-face conferencing as well as various modes of conference delivery such as telephone, email, and home visits. 

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Learning and You offer tutoring services in the schools, community centers and churches which allows students to be tutored at a time and location that is convenient for them and their parents.

 

We also give back to the community by setting up booths at school and community events, inviting parents to participate in the tutoring sessions and contributing human and financial resources to our schools, parents, and the community. 

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parents are informed of activities in our program through conferences, progress reports, and other means of communication.  Examples include mail, email, and telephone.  Parents participate in the training of Coordinators to learn about the tutoring program and the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders including students and parents.  They are encouraged to inform their neighbors and communities about various school activities and how they can become involved.  Parents influence our decision making and we value their input.  Parents desiring to fully participate become our parent ambassadors.
Additionally, we provide transportation, various tutoring locations and flexible tutoring hours to accommodate parents’ schedules and to provide safe and healthy environments.
